What’s holding you back?

HoldingbackThere’s something going on here that stops us from doing what we know.  It’s hidden, it’s a mystery.  We all have it, but rarely know what to do about it, and worse, rarely acknowledge it.

It’s fear.

Why don’t we eat healthier?  Why don’t we have those difficult conversations with our employees?  Why do you put up with bad behavior in the workplace?  We’re afraid of change and doing things that are uncomfortable.  We do everything we can to avoid this and make every excuse we can.

You may have plans to start a book, learn a language, pick up a musical instrument or de-clutter your house.

Traveling, Traveling, Traveling

I travel for work and for pleasure.  This holiday season I planned to fly to Minneapolis to meet my Mom traveling in from Fargo, so I could escort her back to our home in Virginia.  The best laid plans went a little berserk and I was reminded of this tip:  Use a travel delay as an opportunity to stop rather than get stressed. When the world stands still, let it.

Instead of flying in with a 2 hour layover, I ended up having 7 hours in the Minneapolis airport.  So the world has stood still for… Continue reading
